About Birun · Amsterdam-based printing company since 2008
Birun Print & Sign started as a small copy shop on Molukkenstraat. Seventeen years later, it has grown into a complete printing company with its own production for printed matter, signage, corporate identity, and hospitality, but it still feels like a neighborhood business. You walk in, put your file on the counter, and we print it while you get coffee. It's that simple.
How Birun started
In 2008, Fatih Yildirimtepe opened a copy shop in Amsterdam East. One black-and-white printer, one color printer, and a roll of folding stickers. The first customers were UvA students and local entrepreneurs who needed something quickly. It worked. In year 2, the first offset printer was added, in year 4 the laminating press, and in year 6 the large-format plotter for banners. Since 2015, we've been doing facade advertising and car lettering, and since 2020, hospitality printing and textiles.
What never changed: everything we do, we do ourselves. No outsourcing, no waiting lists, no "we have to send it to the printer." The machines are behind the counter.

The people behind Birun
We are a small team of permanent staff, supplemented by freelance designers during busy periods. Fatih (founder) is in the shop daily. Our designer is at the design table, the production crew operates the printers and plotters. No receptionists, no sales layer. If you call, you'll speak to someone who also prints your order. That's how we keep it personal.
Molukkenstraat 405 · where it all happens
300 m² on Molukkenstraat in Amsterdam East. At the front, the counter and design table, behind it 4 production printers, 2 large-format plotters, and a laminator. Further back, the workshop for signage: we custom-cut dibond, forex, and plexiglass here. A two-minute walk from Muiderpoort metro station, paid parking in front. Open 7 days a week, coffee is free.

Printing doesn't have to be environmentally unfriendly
Paper costs trees, ink costs energy, and packaging costs waste. At Birun, you actively choose the sustainable route: 85% of our paper is FSC-certified, our ink is solvent-free water-based for 70% of the printed matter, and we package as standard in recyclable cardboard instead of plastic. Working with Birun as a company
Many companies opt for a retainer model: a monthly relationship where Birun handles your standard printing, reserves your favorite paper, and stores your corporate identity for repeat orders. Minimum order is waived, priority in production, dedicated contact person. Suitable for companies with monthly or quarterly recurring printing (business card influx for new employees, event series, campaigns). Request a consultation via quote.
